There is an orange tree right outside my window. I grew up with an orange tree in my front yard (a perfect climbing tree- it was great), so I like having this tree in sight. A couple of months ago it was relatively monochrome as the fruit started to appear and its green color blended right in with the leaves.
Now they are oranges in every sense of the word. The tree is heavy with them, and the first one was picked off the very top this morning. We ate it with breakfast. Hooray for citrus season! The juxtaposition of dull skies and bright fruit has always been my favorite.
